Finally! Amanda gets Political!

I know, I know - politics are not my thing (or Jamie's thing!) So we decided to get political for the halloween party.

*wink wink*
Jamie was Presidential Candidate McCain's personal physician - funded by Sarah Palin
Hardy-har-har! See the other button is Palin for President ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I decided to have fun with the democrats....
What is Obama always asking for? Change
I decided to give Obama what he wants. I am the "Change" he wants!
That makes me a better supporter than the rest of you all - did any of you obamalovers give him what he asked for? No? I didn't think so!
Birthday Party Pics!
Here are some pics from Hunter's 5th Birthday Party :)
Watch Out Kentucky - Here they come...
AND BOY ARE THEY READY!!!
Never in my life have I looked so good!
For those of you who don't know - these are my parents. I would like to tellyou this is their halloween costumes, but they really are just getting ready to move to Kentucky *ha*
Party Party Costume Party
Today is Hunter's birthday party! It's a costume party (0f course) because that is what he wanted. He even went as far as to tell my mom that she can't sit, lay down, eat or drink IF she isn't wearing a costume. LOL
I will post pictures later :)
Happy Birthday Hunter!
I can't believe you are already 5 years old! Well, technically not til 9pm (after many, many hours of labor mind you) Happy Birthday!
I am good with babies, toddlers "eh", but I have no clue on how to raise a kid. We are going to take this journey together I think. I am greatful to take the trip with you though - you are a great kid.
Wasted Money
Dear Wasted Money (aka Social Security)
I love donating to you each and every single week knowing that I will probably never reap the benefits of my donation. Yes, I do realize that my donations will help support my parents - but they contributed enough to support themselves. How is it fair that we donate so much money to you and yet you (the government) is so malfunctional (is that a word?) that you probably won't be able to support us when we get 65?
Bullcrap.
Yours Truly,
Amanda
ps If I had a choice of donations - I would rather donate to experimental mating of the geoduck than to the dysfunctional (yes, that is the word I wanted above!) liking of you!
A PSA about brushing your teeth with children
Pleaes remember to NEVER bend over to spit just before the child needs to spit. The results to the back of your hair will not be appreciated.
*I didn't say they were appropriate for a 5 year old! Just that it was in HONOR of his birthday ;)
Dane...
Seriously.
Knock it off.
I am struggling as a parent here.
Please, please, please just get it together :(
~~~~
If you didn't read the story about Dane's day - click on the picture of Dane on the left side of the screen. Here is an update - he refused to clean his room - ended up staying in there for 3 1/2 hours screaming and refusing to clean AND then peed on the floor and then climbed into his bed at 6:30 for the night - room is still trashed.

I am really frustrated with myself as a parent over his behavior lately - I feel like I am failing him :( Fortunately (or unfortnately) he acted the same way with Jamie so that makes me feel better knowing that it isn't just me.

We took the boys for pictures...

...and it was just as bad as you can imagine... probably worse.

The baby did good and Hunter did good- - - but Dane??? If there had been a 'drop your child in this box so people can adopt him' box right outside the studio - you bet his little behind would have been in it. Well, right when we got there we realized he had peed his pants - all the way to his knees. Rediculous. The boy has been potty trained for well over a year but lately has been lazy about telling us. I know it is for attention but I don't know how to stop it.

So, pee was the first obstacle - trying to cover up the pee marks. Then, he wouldn't sit up - he wouldn't hold Colt - he wanted Daddy - he wanted Mommy - he wouldn't look at the camera - etc - etc - etc. We did get a few good shots though - most of his good ones were when I was getting Colt calmed down and he was just with Hunter, which I told her I didn't really want just the two of them.

Anyway - check out the pics here

Was he better after the pictures you ask? (well, just pretend you did) No - he was not. Jamie was taking Dane and Colt to the car while I waited for the reciept and Dane used that opportunity to run from Jamie in the mall, knowing that Jamie had the diaper bag in one hand and Colt in the other and he couldn't chase him. Jamie said he felt like people thought he was a child predator chasing and then carrying him kicking and screaming out of the mall. Then we had a nice, loud ride home where Dane repeated at least 1000 times "I don't want to go to bed"

He went to bed.

Fall...

It looks sooooooo pretty!

Kayleigh's Story

I know I have talked about Kayleigh before but I wanted to link to it again to let everyone know how great she is doing! If you haven't followed her story before - While in utero the doctors gave her parents no hope for survival. Kayleigh was born weighing 1 lb 1 oz. She is now almost 4 months, weighing almost 4 lbs and things are looking better everyday for her!

Her dad has done a GREAT job updating daily on her progress. Take a second to stop by and read her truly amazing story....

Cute Ass Pumpkins

I am sooooo not imaginative. I am really not that crafty either. BUT when I saw these pumpkins on another site (if I could remember where, I would link it) I just knew I had to do it too! It was fun, easy and CHEAP!

Pumpkins - $1-3 bucks each

White Spray Paint - FREE (left over from another project)

Brown Craft Paint - $1.97

Foam Brush - less than $1.00

Cheap and Easy House Updates

Since we will be listing our house on the market soon; Jamie and I have decided to invest a little money and some sweat equity into the house to prepare it for a sale.

Some of it looks so nice that I am just pizzed we didn't do it for ourselves sooner because most of it has been fairly inexpensive.

Old light fixture - we have two of these.

New light fixtures. Less than $20 for both! I love them!

Old, disgusting - I am embarrassed we had these - door knobs. We have 4 doors right near each other and every single knob was different - tacky.

New doorknobs - $15/door.

New ceiling fan in out room - old one was cut glass and brass -very dated.

Fan - $38 (on clearance - originally over $100)

Medallion - $26

Paint for Medallion - $6

Jamie also replaced all of our brass (aka hideous) light fixture covers for .50 each and I spray painted the closet door knobs to match the medallion. I am starting to become addicted to spray paint!

I also bought this cute plant and pot for $13.50 total to help stage my house :)

The next major projects are going to be painting the dining room and kitchen and then trying to de-clutter and clean every room to get it listed in January :)

I'm gonna rest for 30 minutes...

...and then 2 hours later! :O

I didn't realize how tired I was! I told Jamie, I am just going to lay down for 30 minutes or so - - yeah, not so much. So - now it is 1:40 in the morning and I am still wide awake. Plus I have this horrible pain in my arm ??? what the crap.

Oh, btw. Is it a bad sign when your gay (male) cousin tells you happy sweetest day BEFORE your husband? Yeah, I think it is too.

It's SWEETEST DAY

I don't know who this is---but it cracked me up!

no sweetest day Pictures, Images and Photos
Jamie does not celebrate Sweetest Day. He said it is a Michigan Hallmark Holiday and he refuses to succumb. It's fine - I buy myself stuff all year round anyway :)

Hunter & Colt Now Added

See over there
<---------

I created blogs for Hunter & Colt now too. I had mommy guilt going on so I spent some time this evening getting them set up.

I hope you enjoy the many stories of my boys...

Fa-Reaking Out (just a little)

I am super excited about our upcoming transition to KY (thank to Melissa for pointing out that I will be living in "ky" Dirrrrrrty girl!) BUT I am fa-reaking out a little bit. I am type-A personality - I have to know what we are doing ahead of time and like to plan, plan, plan. But with there being so many unknowns in this venture - there is no planning. ugh.

I am trying to figure out how to coordinate Jamie and I starting full time jobs within a week of each other all while packing up our entire house all while raising our boys all while trying to arrange a place to live in Kentucky.

I am so super excited but just nervous because I know this is a life-changing move. I have never lived anywhere but Michigan and always have had a ton of family around.

Dinner & a Game

Jamie and I had a "date" night :) We went to a really trashy-esque coney island and then to a high school football game. My how our date nights have changed over the years HA!

The sad reality - I looked forward to it all week and really enjoyed myself. It is so hard to spend time with each other with the three munchkins demanding so much attention.

Blog Obsessed?

Yes, it does appear I have become blog obsessed lately because I keep changing the look - - - but it's fun!! :)

I thought this background was a good fall one... I will change again when it snows (and this is Michigan, so it could be snowing tommorrow!)

Also - check out that link over there
<----------------

I decided to create a blog just for Dane and his folley's. That boy is nuts.

I may create one for Hunter and Colt too - we'll see. So far they are boring compared to the life of Dane.

Guess Where!?!?

If you guessed the goodwill, that is a good guess since there is a ridiculous amount of clothes BUT this is my living room. I embarassingly admit that. This was when I was transitioning Hunter & Dane's Summer Clothes out and Fall Clothes in. That is all their clothes - 2 boys.
Re-dick-u-lous....

Fixed :)

Apparently you have to google search to find out that it is 648 pixels wide. Blogger help was NO HELP. Stupid.

Anyway - now it is right - do you just LOVE IT!!??!

Damn Blogger

I have resized that freakin' header up there upmteen times and it STILL WILL NOT FIT IN THE BOX!

What gives!?!?

Anyway - like the new header? :)

Kidisms

Hunter's newest FUNNY AS HELL comment:

Daddy - do you remember when I gave Colt Woody - and he liked it?

ROFLMAO

In his mind, he was thinking this:
Woody Pictures, Images and Photos

That is NOT what I was thinking of!

Ahhh, kids are funny even when they aren't trying!

Sweetest Day Edition - October 18, 2008
