Lint Contest?

Is there some unwritten, unspoken about contest amongst men to see just how full the lint trap on the dryer can become? I swear - everytime I wash clothes after Jamie the lint trap is sooooo full I can barely pull it out of the dryer. His response "I do empty it." Right.

And I know some of you are thinking "I should just be greatful that he does laundry at all" Well, I guaran-damn-tee when I am standing out at the road with my three children in the freezing cold watching my house burn to the ground because the lint trap finally ignited - my first thought will not be "I am so greatful that Jamie helped me with laundry."

Just for Fun

You know those days, where you feel like you are being pissed on all day?

Man, I think that TODAY might be one of those days for me since I have LITERALLY been pissed on 3 times already, and it's only 9:30am!

Piss #1: Colt wet thru his diaper around 6:30am and soaked the sheets and his pajamas. So I had to get up, change him, throw a towel on the spot (you didn't think I was changing sheets before sunrise did you?!?!) and go back to sleep.

Piss #2: Hunter wakes me up to tell me he peed in MY bed at around 8am. And once I am awake I realize he not only got the sheets wet he also got me all wet, yeah. So I have him go change, I get up and change, throw YET another towel down(it's still early!) and try to sleep just a wee bit more.

Piss #3: Colt and I got up around 9 or so and as I was carrying him to the kitchen to make him a bottle, he pees outside of his diaper, down his legs all over my legs.

are.you.serious.

So, I am waiting for Hunter to wake up so I can wash the sheets. I need a shower and Colt and Hunter need baths. I just hope this isn't a glimpse of how bad the day is gonna be.

omg HILARIOUS!

I'mmmmmmmmmmm Baaaaaaccccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkk

^Said in a creepy sorta way.

Well, the truth is, I haven't went anywhere. Just have been neglecting all two of you (I am doubtful that there are more readers than that!)

With the holidays and illness and bad weather and hormones I have been so overwhelmed and blah lately that I have had no desire to post anything.

Christmas was great, overwhelming but great. We do everything with family during 5 hours on Xmas Eve - both families. It makes it a little stressful and rushed but eh, it's what it is I guess.

Christmas morning was great - boys were sorta excited (well, after they started opening gifts they were stoked) and the baby was in love with the wrapping paper. Can you believe he is already 7 months old! He was trying to crawl yesterday YIKES! Mobility is not something I want anytime soon!

Anyway, I will try to get better about posting and I plan on doing a year in review post sometime today/tommorrow :)

To all our friends and family - we love you and hope you had a great holiday season!

Putting the Star on the Tree

Well, since Hunter is the oldest - he got to put the star on the tree this year.

Dane checking out the situation... coming up with a plan....

Dane also putting the star on the tree! He just had to help out too!

Then the dumb star fell - so we put a Santa on top... We tried.

Sick 'o Shits

That is what our house has been this WHOLE WEEK! I didn't even get a chance to tell you how much we enjoyed our trip down to Kentucky to visit dad before Hunter started puking. He was literally puking within 3 hours of getting home - at least he waited though, huh? Well - that was Sunday night and up to yesterday it was still a mess around here... Dane got the runs too, but no puking and *fingers crossed* Jamie, Colt or I haven't gotten it at all (I probably just jinxed us!)

Anyway - just wanted to update everyone. Here is a cute pic of Dane & Colt from like 5 minutes ago.

I'm A Slacker

I know I should be posting more... and I would like to tell you I have been so busy doing important things -but in all actuality I have just been a lazy piece of shit - sorry.

Well, not really.

So, to get your forgiveness (because I like to act like I really do care) - I am going to show you some pics :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Dirty things that can only be said on Thanksgiving...

01. Talk about a huge breast
02. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist
03. It's Cool Whip time
04. If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst
05. That's one terrific spread
06. I'm in the mood for a little dark meat
07. Are you ready for seconds yet
08. Its a little dry, do you still want to eat it
09. Just wait your turn, you'll get some
10. Don't play with your meat
11. Just spread the legs open and stuff it in
12. Do you think you'll be able to handle all these people at once
13. I didn't expect everyone to come at once
14. You still have a little bit on your chin.
15. How long will it take after you stick it in
16. You'll know it's ready when it pops up.
17. Wow, I didn't think I could handle all of that
18. That's the biggest one I've ever seen

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Personalized Calendar - Christmas Gift :)

This is soooo easy and it is perfect for family and friends and teacher and etc...

Materials (to make 2)
1 sheet of CUTE scrapbook paper
2 printed calendars (I made it easy for you, the link to the website where I found my calendar is
at the bottom of the post!)

Hole Punch - the kind that makes smaller holes, not the regular size hole punch

4 brads

Corner rounder, optional
magnet, optional

Directions:
Cut down CUTE scrapbook paper into two, 5 1/2 inch pieces. I like to corner-round my corners on the calendar, so I do this next.

Then, you cut out the calendars trying to make them as even as possible. Punch a hole thru the calendar at the top on each side. Line them up on the paper where you want them to be, and then punch thru the paper.

Attach to the sheet with the brads and you are (almost) DONE!

This is where I pick out a CUTE pic that will go with my CUTE paper. I am making these for Hunter's classmates, so his teacher will be adding the pics. Here is a picture of the one I made last year though.

You can attach the picture with grommets, brads or just glue it on :) Super cute, personalized and easy! Add a magnet to the back to make an instant showpiece!

KISS MY ASS BCBS

I hate our insurance company lately. It is independent Blue Cross Blue Shield and we pay almost $400/mo out of pocket just for the plan and lately we have been getting the big ole screw.

First, they only covered the first $500 of well-baby visits. Well that was taken up in TWO visits -so we had a huge out of pocket expense there.

Second, the didn't pay for the bili-light that was NECESSSARY for my son to survive... I am still waiting for that bill. If I had realized they didn't pay for it (it's about $600) I probably would have taken him back to the hospital for the treatment. It would have been a lot faster and cheaper!

Third, they (surprisingly) pay for a vasectomy for my dear husband BUT not for the post-vasectomy sperm test to make sure the vasectomy was successful. That is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard - seriously. Why pay for a surgery but not the follow up test to make sure the surgery worked. Dumbass insurance company.

OH, and they didn't cover pre-natal. Colt is a golden baby for sure!

Homeschool

I love watching the Duggar family on TV. The one thing that has always perplexed me is WHY does she homeschool her children when it would be a GREAT break to send all of them off to school!

I NOW know why Michelle Duggar homeschools.

I can barely get 1 kid to the bus stop while dragging the other 2 behind. I couldn't imagine getting 17 Hunter's ready on time. No way.

Punkin' Carvin'

I know these are late BUT here are the punkin' carvin' pics :) We had a great time and the boys were super excited to draw and cut out their own punkin's (with daddy's help!)
Please excuse the dirty faces, they had been jumping in leaves for a while before we did the carving. Well, they usually are dirty - but this is the reason why in these particular pictures :)

8:45am

Wow - we didn't get up til 8:45am today and I felt sooooo refreshed. It's official - I am old. 8:45am is the new 10:00am for me :)

Wow... moving... and horribly sad

With regards to Prop 8 being passed, one mom had a few things to say....

We are all equal, anything is possible, civil rights for all now...

...unless you are gay.
Thanks to everyone who took a pen and unmarried their friends and neighbors yesterday. I'm sure the horror you were experiencing because families like mine were married will be instantly relieved now that many of us are back to just "living together permanently".
But hey, you have your rights to disagree! That's the american way! We get to decide what goes on in other people's homes...that's only fair, right? I shouldn't say anything about families like mine being forced to divorce because this is a democracy!

And since I chose to be gay so emphatically because I love being teased and ridiculed, I don't really have the same rights as other Americans. So why do I get to complain. Other people really do know best for me and my family...it's probably better that they arrange my marriage for me.

I live in MA. And my marriage is protected. But Prop 8 is every much a loss for me today.
But I guess I deserve it. How dare I consider myself equal. I'm clearly not...

This was written by Jen, mother to 3 beautiful children whom she is raising with her wife in MA.

Here is the link.

Wow - ree-dick-u-luss

I am reading a popular board *cough, cough - babycenter* and I can not believe the way people are going on and on about how our country is ruined and they may pull their kids from public schools and blah blah blah b/c Obama won.

What the fluck?

I know if McCain had won there would be similar comments from die-hard Democrats, but really---it's dumb.

Both men are qualified for the job - and I am sure both of them will do their job (can't do worse than "linemypocketsBush"!)

Let's all support our leader and HOPE and PRAY this country gets better!

Way to Go Obama!

Whether you are a Republican or Democrat---today was a historical day for our country that we should be proud to be a part of.

He has a tough, TOUGH job in front of him and I hope he is up for the challenge!

(YES!)

Kayleigh's Big Day

Today is Kayleigh's open heart surgery :( It started early this morning and her dad is keeping their blog updated with updates.

KAYLEIGH'S UPDATES

For those of you who are prayer-folk - please say a prayer for her.

For those of you who are not prayer-folk - please send positive thoughts to her family today.

This is her (hopefully) last big hurdle!

Here is a pic from last night when she was getting a bath (I'm sure her dad won't care if I snagged it - as long as I get the word out!)

If you take a three year old with you to vote...

Make sure he/she is CLEAR that president is NOT the same as present. Dane was positive he was going to get a present and when he did not recieve a present he was a nightmare.

So, just make it clear up front.

:)

Finally! Amanda gets Political!

I know, I know - politics are not my thing (or Jamie's thing!) So we decided to get political for the halloween party.

*wink wink*
Jamie was Presidential Candidate McCain's personal physician - funded by Sarah Palin
Hardy-har-har! See the other button is Palin for President ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I decided to have fun with the democrats....
What is Obama always asking for? Change
I decided to give Obama what he wants. I am the "Change" he wants!
That makes me a better supporter than the rest of you all - did any of you obamalovers give him what he asked for? No? I didn't think so!
Birthday Party Pics!
Here are some pics from Hunter's 5th Birthday Party :)
Party Party Costume Party
Today is Hunter's birthday party! It's a costume party (0f course) because that is what he wanted. He even went as far as to tell my mom that she can't sit, lay down, eat or drink IF she isn't wearing a costume. LOL
I will post pictures later :)
Happy Birthday Hunter!
I can't believe you are already 5 years old! Well, technically not til 9pm (after many, many hours of labor mind you) Happy Birthday!
I am good with babies, toddlers "eh", but I have no clue on how to raise a kid. We are going to take this journey together I think. I am greatful to take the trip with you though - you are a great kid.
Wasted Money
Dear Wasted Money (aka Social Security)
I love donating to you each and every single week knowing that I will probably never reap the benefits of my donation. Yes, I do realize that my donations will help support my parents - but they contributed enough to support themselves. How is it fair that we donate so much money to you and yet you (the government) is so malfunctional (is that a word?) that you probably won't be able to support us when we get 65?
Bullcrap.
Yours Truly,
Amanda
ps If I had a choice of donations - I would rather donate to experimental mating of the geoduck than to the dysfunctional (yes, that is the word I wanted above!) liking of you!
A PSA about brushing your teeth with children
Pleaes remember to NEVER bend over to spit just before the child needs to spit. The results to the back of your hair will not be appreciated.
Too Funny Tuesday
Happy Birthday Edition in honor of Hunter's Birthday*
Happy Birthday! Pictures, Images and Photos
happy Birthday Pictures, Images and Photos
happy birthday funny Pictures, Images and Photos
Happy Birthday Pictures, Images and Photos
*I didn't say they were appropriate for a 5 year old! Just that it was in HONOR of his birthday ;)
Dane...
Seriously.
Knock it off.
I am struggling as a parent here.
Please, please, please just get it together :(
~~~~
If you didn't read the story about Dane's day - click on the picture of Dane on the left side of the screen. Here is an update - he refused to clean his room - ended up staying in there for 3 1/2 hours screaming and refusing to clean AND then peed on the floor and then climbed into his bed at 6:30 for the night - room is still trashed.

I am really frustrated with myself as a parent over his behavior lately - I feel like I am failing him :( Fortunately (or unfortnately) he acted the same way with Jamie so that makes me feel better knowing that it isn't just me.

We took the boys for pictures...

...and it was just as bad as you can imagine... probably worse.

The baby did good and Hunter did good- - - but Dane??? If there had been a 'drop your child in this box so people can adopt him' box right outside the studio - you bet his little behind would have been in it. Well, right when we got there we realized he had peed his pants - all the way to his knees. Rediculous. The boy has been potty trained for well over a year but lately has been lazy about telling us. I know it is for attention but I don't know how to stop it.

So, pee was the first obstacle - trying to cover up the pee marks. Then, he wouldn't sit up - he wouldn't hold Colt - he wanted Daddy - he wanted Mommy - he wouldn't look at the camera - etc - etc - etc. We did get a few good shots though - most of his good ones were when I was getting Colt calmed down and he was just with Hunter, which I told her I didn't really want just the two of them.

Anyway - check out the pics here

Was he better after the pictures you ask? (well, just pretend you did) No - he was not. Jamie was taking Dane and Colt to the car while I waited for the reciept and Dane used that opportunity to run from Jamie in the mall, knowing that Jamie had the diaper bag in one hand and Colt in the other and he couldn't chase him. Jamie said he felt like people thought he was a child predator chasing and then carrying him kicking and screaming out of the mall. Then we had a nice, loud ride home where Dane repeated at least 1000 times "I don't want to go to bed"

He went to bed.

It looks sooooooo pretty!

Kayleigh's Story

I know I have talked about Kayleigh before but I wanted to link to it again to let everyone know how great she is doing! If you haven't followed her story before - While in utero the doctors gave her parents no hope for survival. Kayleigh was born weighing 1 lb 1 oz. She is now almost 4 months, weighing almost 4 lbs and things are looking better everyday for her!

Her dad has done a GREAT job updating daily on her progress. Take a second to stop by and read her truly amazing story....
