Girl Wisdom

Someone sent this to me in an email and I found it to be a perfect description of my life experiences!!

1. A friend of mine confused her Valium with her birth control pills...
she has 14 kids but doesn't really care.

2. One of life's mysteries is how a 2-pound box of chocolates can make
a woman gain 5 lbs.

3. My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.

4. The best way to forget your troubles is to wear tight shoes.

5. The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don't
know what you are doing, someone else does.

6. The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight because by then,
your body and your fat are really good friends.

7. Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

8. Sometimes I think I understand everything, and then I regain

9. I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together
and setting fire to my knickers’.

10. Amazing! You hang something in your closet for a while and it
shrinks 2 sizes!

11. Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things
like...'You know sometimes I forget to eat!' .....Now I've forgotten my
address, my mother's maiden name and my keys, but I have never forgotten
to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat!

12. The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about
nothing and then they marry him.

13. I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are
eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding?
That's my idea of a perfect day!

Spider - Dane!!!

Ok - so this story really shouldn't be amusing to me - but if you would have seen Dane's face when I was talking to him about it - you would have laughed too!

So, I am sitting in the living room and the boys were in my bedroom and I heard this hellacious bang. I ran in there and see the curtain rod laying on the floor - ripped out of the wall. Instantly I was irritated b/c I know my lazy ass won't fix it for months so I told the boys "be careful when playing on the bed so you don't fall off again and pull the curtains." This is when Dane says, "I didn't fall - I was swinging on it" with the biggest, proudest grin ever. I instantly snickered and then told him to NOT swing on it. Seriously - they are, well were, held up by 2 screws total - can not hold his weight.

Unfortunately - I believe this is just the beginning of "fun" things the boys do!

A special love story...

My mom forwarded this video to me and I just have to share... it is truly remarkable.

(Please forgive the fact that Barbara Wa-Wa is in it - I don't know how to edit her skanky butt out)

Ya know what makes this outfit cute? It only cost $1.97! It was one of the items I purchased in the JC Penney's clearance sale! Trust me, Colt does NOT need any more clothes - but how could I pass this up - I just LOVE IT!
He actually loved it too - can't you tell by his expression? We tried to catch him smiling - which he was doing RIGHT BEFORE Jamie took this picture - oh well!

Colt's Nuclear Scan and why I deserve WMOTY award!

Colt has his nuclear scan today. The test went ok - it would have been better if I had asked more questions. Like, I had no idea that after they injected the dye into his veins we had to wait 1.5 hours to do the test or that the test takes an hour. I felt like we were there all day. I kinda cheated a little and fed him at 7:45 rather than 7 b/c I didn't want to hear him screaming - and everything went just as planned - no issues and no hungry screaming.

The did mess up the first injection though - and when she went to pull it out - her arm caugh the needle, and it turned sideways INSIDE his hand - UGH! I know it hurt bad too b/c he was screaming. The did get it in the 2nd try though. Then he slept the 1.5 hours and screamed again when they gave him the sedation medicine. He is doing ok now- really crabby (which they said is normal) and his head is flopping around again like a newborn (which is normal since the sedation meds are still in his system) He should be fine by tommorrow.

(you were wondering what that meant, weren't you?)

So I went to the pharmacy to pick up Colt's Bactrim antibiotic that he is supposed to start tommmorrow--- I noticed the name on the medicine was you see where this is going... I have been giving him the freaking bactrim for 10 days and have not given him any thrush medicine at all yet! ugh! Apparently, when I went to pick up the thrush medicine last Monday - the nurse had already called in the Bactrim and they didn't look for more than 1 script and I didn't realize that was there - so I took home the wrong meds. I didn't notice b/c the name on the bottle wasn't "bactrim" but some other name... I suck as a mom. No wonder the thrush isn't gone yet!

NO thrush medicine...double antibiotics... what a dumbass I am.

Erick & Bob's Babysitting Day

Swim Swim Swim

The boys are having a blast this summer swimming. And, since Michigan summers are approximately 4 weeks long - we had better swim everyday!

At the beach on 4th of July

At grandma's house - giving a thumbs up!

Hunter got CAUGHT being bad! lol

Hunter going down the slide.

Dane looking super cute!

How nerdy can you get when you are swimming?!?

As promised....

Here are some recent pics of Colt for you :)

At the beach on Fourth of July

Finally Smiling!

July 22nd - 2 months and 1 day old

July 22nd - I am sooooo happy!

Happy 2 months old Colt

I can't believe it has been 2 months already! (well, technically 2 months and 1 day - but damn, I am pretty close for a 3rd child!)

I can't believe how time has just flown by since he has been born! He has been such a great(whiny) addition to our family! He may be slightly(OK - ree-dick-u-lously) high maintenance but I still adore him. I know I baby him even more because I KNOW he is my last baby.

I know - this post sucks without pictures - I will try to post some tommorrow or the next day or the next day. Did you happen to see my procrastination picture above?

EDIT: DAMN - it's after midnight now - so he is 2 months and 2 days old... I'm such a slacker....

Shout out to a Friend

Check out this blog! Jamie is an awesome person and ABSOLUTELY hilarious in her writings!

Her and I (that is such bad grammar - probably why my boys are under achievers - see post below!) are going to go on a comedy tour. (Comedy tour = drinking and partying tour)

When reading her blog the other day I noticed this link and I LOVE this blog too...

I need more hours during the day. Well, that's not true - I just need someone to wipe butts and clean all day so I can have more internetz time :)

My boys are under-achievers...

Well, I guess in the scheme of things (aka extended family history) my boys are scholars BUT when compared to this boy - they are seriously, seriously lacking.

This is another blog that I visit daily and over the last year or so have been enjoying the stories about Big Kid and Little Kid - but I wasn't expecting Big Kid to be such a little genius! Wow - I am truly amazed. Now if I could just get Hunter to say the alphabet forwards that would be a step in the right direction!

An amazing story...

I first saw this story posted on the ultrasound thread and couldn't take my eyes off of it. Since then - The Freeman's have given birth to a 1 lb 1 oz baby girl named Kayleigh. They were told over and over that she wasn't going to make it out of the womb but now she is here and fighting everyday.

The Freeman's update their blog everyday and I am always checking it out to see how Kayliegh is doing. If you have a second - check it out....

Funny Article about Breast Pumps

I have kinda thought this about my pump before... read it!

That's what I'm talking 'bout!

Colt slept from 1 to 5:30 last night - 4.5 hours! (psst! That's a good thing!) Then he ate and slept until 9:30 - 4 hours! (That's a good thing too!)

He had been waking up every 2-3 hours at night, so I will take 4 hours!

GREAT DEALS - FREE or Almost Free!!!

Ok, since I have become quite the bargain whore - I thought I should share the knowledge with those of you who are bargain-illiterate. So these are the best deals this week!

Bounty Paper Towel - 10 for $10!
There was a coupon on 7/6/08 for $1.00/2 - so if you buy 2 for $2 each and use the coupon,
Kroger will double the coupon making the paper towel FREE!

Gillette Shave Gel or Satin Care Shave Gel - $1.69 or so
There was a coupon on 7/6/08 for $1.00/1 - so if you buy one, use the $1.00 coupon, Kroger
will double that coupon and will make them FREE! (Used to make you money BUT Kroger
fixed the glitch so it will take off $1 and then bonus coupon will be .69)

Crest Toothpaste - $1.00 each if you purchase 3
There was a coupon on 7/6/08 for $1.00/1 - so if you buy 3, use one $1.00 coupon, Kroger
will double that coupon and you will get 3 tubes of toothpaste for $1.00 total! (BEST DEAL - if
you have 3/$1.00 off coupons - use all three, Kroger will double and you will make $3!!)

Walgreens - NEXT WEEK
Rumor has it that Walgreens will have their diapers on sale again! You can NOT pass up this deal if you need diapers or pullups!! It is like paying less than 20% of Pampers or Huggies and the quality has been great!

3 packs Walgreens store brand diapers at 5.99= 17.97

Use instant value coupon in the monthly book (it should take off $7.50 total) (The monthly books are located on a rack at the front of the store)

17.97-7.50= 10.47 + tax and you get back 5.00 in the form of a Register Rebate (good for $5 off your next purchase at Walgreens. If you use it to buy more diapers, it won't spit out another one, so it's best to use it for something else.)

so 5.47 for 3 packs of diapers + tax or 1.82 a pack.

Family Reunion 2008

It's that time of year again! We had the family reunion today and it was a bee-u-ti-ful day! My mom is one of 12 children, so you can imagine how many of us there are! It's very strange to me when people say they don't know all of their cousins (including my own husband!) but I know all of my cousins AND 2nd cousins!

My cousin Melissa and I were the "photographers" today. If we thought our kids didn't listen - you should have been there trying to get all of our family together for pics...o.m.g.

It was a great day though, seriously (well, except for the horseshoe tournament that lasted ALL FREAKING DAY!) Here are a few pics from today :)

Jamie & Dane (I LOVE this picture!)

Some of the guys in our family!

Always Sleeping?

Why do I have so many pictures of the baby sleeping?

Because if he is awake - he HAS to be held. Usually he has to be held when he is sleeping too - but SOMETIMES I can lay him down :)

Future VanGoghs?

I think so!
