Changes, Changes, Changes

As if having a new baby in the next few weeks isn't enough - Jamie starts a new job on Monday :) Luckily enough they are letting him start at part-time status until after the baby is born so that is something he won't have to stress about. This new job wasn't something we were anticipating BUT too many circumstances came into play and he didn't have much of a choice but to make a change. He is super excited about the new job and I hope he is extremely happy with his decision once he starts.

It is going to be strange around here though b/c I am used to him making his own schedule and popping in and out of the house throughout the day whereas now he will be on a set schedule. He is excited though because he can work 7 to 3:30 and still have a lot of day-time left :)

Baby Update - 37 weeks

So I had my 37 week appt today and everything looked GREAT! Which is good, buttttttttttttttt strange to me. All along there have been complications and worries, etc - and now all of a sudden THINGS ARE GREAT! WTH??!?! I am super happy about that - but just out of sorts about it. I guess I am waiting for something to go wrong.

My blood pressure was 102/67 (has been pretty good all along)
Urine looked good (who would have guessed I had good lookin' urine!)
My amniotic fluid levels were 15.2 cm (up from 14 cm last week)
Baby was super active at the office (had decreased activity at home)
They didn't check the kidney size (it's been enlarged since 18 weeks) but I am sure it is still enlarged.


Basically - it is a waiting game (as in most pregnancies!) I did talk to the OB about inducing earlier than 39 weeks, like at 38 1/2 weeks and he said that would be fine. So, my next appt is May 13th and if I am still not in labor (which I won't be) they will schedule my induction date for me.



Oh yeah, still 1 cm dialated - bull crap!

Man! Do I have some stories that could knock your socks off!!

Unfortunately, my family knows about my blog so I have to keep *those* stories on the down - low.

I cooked dinner tonight!

Whereas you may not think that warrants it's own blog entry - trust me, it does. It is not a daily occurance at my house. It was a good dinner too - baked/bbq chicken breasts, boiled potatoes, french bread and corn - Damn - I am as good as Martha FREAKIN' Stewart! (well, minus the millions of embezzled funds!)



For those of you who were near heart attack stage when you realized I ACTUALLY cooked dinner - you may want to skip the next part of this post.

I CLEANED THE KITCHEN WHILE COOKING DINNER TOO! Dishes (before they were Febreezed), wiped all the counters down, swept, mopped (well, rubbed a washcloth over the nasty spots with my foot) and even got lunches packed already for tommorrow.

I hope this is what nesting feels like - and I HOPE that means labor is soon - very soon! Hell, I think that deserves a dialation of 1 cm. in itself!

A Message from God....

Who would have guessed?!?!?

So - since this is my 3rd pregnancy you would think I would know the signs of labor or what it is like to go into labor, BUT for those of you that know me - you know that my body sucks and really doesn't know how to be a woman! In my previous pregnancies I was neither dialated or effaced prior to induction at full-term.

SO - low and behold, at my 36 week appt. I was 1 cm. dialated!!?! I was super excited for about 3.5 seconds until the OB said, "Let's see if we can stretchhhhhhhhhhhh your cervix a little more to get things rolling."

Well, at least that I is what I think she said.

My mind computed this as "Let's see if we can stret.... OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WTF IS SHE DOING IN MY CROTCH?!?!??!"

People should warn you before they stretch ANYTHING on your body!

So who knows - I may actually have this baby without an induction (not that I am holding my breath!) I go back again on Tuesday (May 6th) to see if the stretching aka ripping my body in half worked or not. It better have worked dammit!
